At first, it may seem surprising that the Geneo® treatment can be used for several different skin types and skin conditions. Its versatility, however, lies precisely in the way the treatment steps build on one another: radiofrequency skin tightening, OxyGeneo® technology and ultrasound-assisted active ingredient delivery together create a complex protocol that can be adapted to the skin’s current needs.
During the treatment, the appropriate OxyPod and its matching serum are always selected according to the skin condition. Oily, acne-prone skin requires a different active ingredient combination than dehydrated, pigmented or more mature skin. This is what makes the Geneo® treatment truly customizable.
Main steps of the treatment
The first step of the treatment is the Tripollar® radiofrequency treatment, which aims to support skin firmness and the anti-aging effect.
Skin sagging, loss of elasticity and the formation of wrinkles are partly related to the fact that the supportive structures of the connective tissue, including collagen fibres, gradually lose their firmness and organisation over time. Radiofrequency energy creates a controlled heating effect in the tissues. In the short term, this heat effect may contribute to the contraction of collagen fibres, resulting in a firmer skin feel.
In the longer term, the aim of the treatment is to support fibroblast activity. These cells are responsible, among other functions, for producing collagen and other connective tissue fibres, so their activity plays an important role in maintaining the skin’s elasticity and density.
The Tripollar® RF technology of the Geneo® device allows targeted, controlled heating. Intelligent temperature sensing helps ensure safe treatment, so skin tightening is performed in a gentle and controlled way.
The second phase of the treatment is OxyGeneo® technology, which combines three important effects at the same time:
The OxyGeneo® capsules gently remove dead skin cells, making the skin surface smoother, fresher and more receptive to active ingredients.
The oxygenating effect is based on the fact that the OxyPods contain citric acid and sodium bicarbonate. These two compounds react with each other, producing carbon dioxide on the surface of the skin. The local presence of carbon dioxide may, through the Bohr effect, encourage haemoglobin in the blood to release more oxygen in the treated area. As a result, the oxygen supply of the treated skin area may improve.
Better oxygen supply can support cellular metabolic processes and prepare the skin for the following active ingredient delivery steps. OxyGeneo® therefore uses natural physiological processes to refresh and revitalize the skin.
In the third step, active ingredient delivery continues, this time with the help of ultrasound. Each OxyPod has a matching serum that works in synergy with it, complementing and enhancing the targeted effect of the capsule.
One of the important cosmetic roles of ultrasound is that it may help the active ingredients penetrate the skin more effectively. It may also support tissue circulation, and its mechanical effect provides a gentle micromassage. This step may contribute to a more hydrated, fuller and fresher-looking complexion.
As the fourth step of the treatment, a pampering facial massage follows. This not only provides a pleasant experience, but also serves as an important complement to the previous three technological phases.
Facial massage may help stimulate blood and lymphatic circulation, supporting the oxygen and nutrient supply of the cells and contributing to the removal of metabolic waste products. This fits especially well with the oxygenating effect of OxyGeneo® and the ultrasound-assisted active ingredient delivery, as improved circulation may support the more even distribution of active ingredients within the skin.
Massage also relaxes the facial muscles, may reduce tension and can contribute to a fresher, more rested appearance. In the tissues warmed and prepared by the radiofrequency treatment, massage may further support skin comfort and elasticity.
This step therefore offers not only a relaxing experience, but also harmoniously complements the first three phases of the treatment and contributes to the overall skin-refreshing effect.
The Balance OxyPod and serum are designed to support oily, shiny, blemish-prone and acne-prone skin.
The OxyPod contains activated charcoal, which may help bind excess sebum and impurities accumulated on the skin surface. The salicylic acid in the serum complements this effect: as an oil-soluble acid, it can also support the removal of dead skin cells inside the pores.
Mandelic acid also plays a role in the Balance treatment. As a gentle exfoliating acid, it may contribute to improving uneven skin texture and the appearance of post-blemish marks. Together with salicylic acid, it may help support a clearer, more balanced-looking complexion.
Oily skin also needs hydration and barrier-friendly care. Nourishing ingredients in the serum, such as argan oil, shea butter and jojoba oil, help provide this support. Camu camu extract, vitamin C and naringenin offer antioxidant support for the skin.
Main goal: to support a clearer, less shiny and more balanced-looking complexion.
The Hydrate OxyPod and serum are designed to support dry, dehydrated skin that has lost comfort. They may also be a good choice for more mature skin, as the skin’s natural moisture content and water-retaining capacity can decrease with age.
Skin firmness and elasticity are closely related to proper hydration. The connective tissue of the dermis binds a significant amount of water, in which water-binding molecules such as hyaluronic acid, as well as collagen and elastic fibres, play an important role. When the skin’s water-retaining capacity decreases, the skin may appear duller, drier and less elastic to the touch.
The Hydrate OxyPod contains hydrating and water-binding ingredients such as trehalose, spirulina extract, Gotu kola extract and lactobionic acid. Lactobionic acid belongs to the group of polyhydroxy acids and has gentle exfoliating and hydrating properties.
The matching serum contains hyaluronic acid and nourishing botanical oils such as argan oil, marula oil and shea butter, helping the skin feel more hydrated and comfortable. Niacinamide and Gotu kola extract may also play a role in supporting skin renewal and collagen synthesis. Vitamin E and naringenin provide antioxidant protection against free radicals.
Main goal: to support a more hydrated, fuller and more comfortable skin feel.
The Illuminate OxyPod and serum focus on pigmentation, sun-damaged skin and uneven skin tone.
Hyperpigmentation occurs when melanin production increases or pigment becomes unevenly distributed in the skin. Melanin is naturally a protective pigment, but excessive sun exposure, solarium use, inflammation, hormonal changes or photosensitizing substances may contribute to the appearance of pigment spots.
The lactobionic acid in the Illuminate OxyPod gently supports the removal of dead skin cells and may therefore help refine the appearance of pigmented surface layers. As a hydrating polyhydroxy acid, it may also be more suitable for sensitive skin than stronger acid exfoliants.
Kojic acid and alpha-arbutin may contribute to a more even-looking skin tone by influencing the process of melanin production. Stable vitamin C derivatives, in addition to their antioxidant effect, also support a brighter, fresher-looking complexion.
The Illuminate serum further enhances this targeted brightening and radiance-supporting direction, while also supporting the skin with hydrating and antioxidant ingredients.
Main goal: to support a more even-toned, brighter and fresher-looking complexion.
The Glam OxyPod and serum are designed to refresh and nourish more mature, tired skin that has lost its radiance. This treatment may be an especially good choice when the goal is a fresher, more refined and more elegant-looking complexion.
The Glam OxyPod contains carnosine, silk powder and gold. Carnosine is a natural dipeptide and is an interesting ingredient in anti-aging skincare because of its antioxidant and anti-glycation properties. It may help protect skin structures from the damaging effects of oxidative stress and glycation processes.
Silk powder is a fine, optically smoothing ingredient that may contribute to a more refined and smoother-looking skin surface. Gold appears in luxury skincare concepts mainly as a radiance-enhancing, premium sensory element.
The nourishing and hydrating ingredients of the Glam serum include marula oil and rosehip oil. Rosehip oil is rich in antioxidants and fits well into the care of dull, more mature skin. Hyaluronic acid may contribute to a more hydrated, fuller skin feel and to the softer appearance of fine dehydration lines.
Main goal: to support a more nourished, radiant and elegant-looking complexion.
When is the Geneo® treatment not recommended?
The Geneo® treatment is a multi-step, customizable skin-refreshing protocol. For this reason, before every treatment, it is necessary to assess the current condition of the skin and discuss any possible contraindications.
The treatment is not recommended, or should be postponed, in the following cases:
As the Geneo® treatment can be customized with different OxyPods and serums, individual sensitivities must also be taken into account. For example, in the case of sensitivity to salicylic acid, vitamin C, retinoids, botanical extracts or fragrance components, choosing the appropriate treatment direction is especially important.
In cases of severe, suddenly worsening, painful or scarring acne, or uncertain skin lesions, dermatological consultation is recommended before cosmetic treatment.
Home care after the treatment
After the Geneo® treatment, the skin may generally feel fresher, more radiant and more hydrated. As the treatment includes gentle exfoliation, active ingredient delivery and, in some protocols, radiofrequency and ultrasound steps, the aim of home care is to soothe, hydrate and protect the skin.
For 24–48 hours after the treatment, it is advisable to avoid:
Recommended home routine:
The day after the treatment, mild redness, a warm sensation or increased sensitivity may occur, especially if the protocol included RF, peeling or a more active ingredient combination. This is usually temporary.
Sun protection
After the Geneo® treatment, sun protection is especially important, particularly when the treatment focuses on pigment spot reduction, skin renewal or anti-aging support. During the day, a high-protection, broad-spectrum sunscreen is recommended, and direct sun exposure should be avoided.
For skin prone to pigmentation, at-home sun protection is not only an aftercare recommendation, but one of the most important conditions for maintaining the results of the treatment.
